TermDefinition
Makes up approximately 20% of the brain/cortex
Parietal Lobe
Function: Receives and processes internal stimuli (proprioception) and external stimuli. Contains two smaller subsections, S1 and S2. Creates a continuous and sensible stream of consciousness (feature integration theory)
Somatosensory Cortex

Function: Higher order planning, careful movement and dexterous tasks. A few associations here would be that this is tied to the dorsal network (reaching & grasping), and eye movement so think saccadic eye movement (constant jerky movement to refocus center of vision)
Posterior Parietal Cortex
Expounding upon dorsal network association: Endogenous (goal oriented and planning) attention is carried out through this region of the brain, stemming from information and communication from the occipital lobe
Parietal Lobe (Dorsal Network)
