Vineland Adaptive Behavioral Scales (VABS)
All ages; aid in diagnosing/ classifying intellectual & developmental disabilities; measures adaptive behaviors, including ability to cope with environmental changes, learn new everyday skills, & demonstrate independence.
Vineland Social Maturity Scale (VSMS)
Ages: 0-15; measures social competence with 8 scales: communication skills, general self-help ability, locomotion skills, occupation skills, self-direction, self-help eating, self-help dressing, & socialization skills

Age: 5-11; used medical, social system, cultural pluralism models to assess level of functioning and potential of children from various cultural backgrounds.
Bayley Scales of Infant Development-III (BAYLEY-III)
Age: 1-42 months; examines all the facets of a young child’s development in order to identify developmental issues during early childhood; such as receptive communication, fine motor development, memory, etc
Denver Developmental Screening Test-II (DENVER-II)
Age: 0-6; identifies young children with developmental problems so that they can be referred for help; 4 domains are assessed: personal-social, fine motor and adaptive, language, & gross motor
