Theme/issue + Justification
Friendship, as it centres around a group of friends who share their struggles with each other and decide to start a band together
Rehersal Technique: Improvisation (Explain the technique, Describe how it impacted your performance)
Seeing how characters would act in different situations. It allowed me to realise that my character lacked self confidence when making decisions. This affected my final performance as I used closed body language and a quiet voice to convey to the audience that I was unsure of myself when making a decision about starting a band.
Rehersal Technique: Hot seating (Explain the technique, Describe how it impacted your performance)
Questioning someone in character. It helped me realise my character's fears about starting a band and her worries about her and her friends. This meant that in my final performance I used an anxious tone of voice when discussing being a band to convey that I was worried and didn’t want to do it.
Rehersal Technique: Writing in Role (Explain the technique, Describe how it impacted your performance)
Writing from the point of view of a character. It helped me to realise that my character just wants people to like her and is scared of upsetting people. In my final performance I used a quiet voice when talking to Megan about Ben to show that while I disapproved of what she said, I was too scared of upsetting her to confront her.
Target audience + Justification
15-18 year olds. This is because it includes academic struggles and typical teenage experiences which they would be able to relate to.
Mood/atmosphere + Justification
Cheerful and humorous because it includes jokes and juvenile humour such as when Megan has funny nicknames for the people they don’t like at school.
